At the recent AGM of CnmB Áth Cliath, Secretary Micheal Mac Gabhann stepped down after 9 years in the role. Micheal, a native of Galway had made the move west over the summer. We wish Micheal every success in his future endeavours.

Congratulations to Cian Lynch, of Rolestown NS who succeeds Micheal in the role. Cian, has been heavily involved in the administration of CnmB activities in the background, coordinating half time games and our annual Dublin – Antrim Friendship games. We wish Cian every success in the role.

A number of motions were passed at the AGM. From September 2026, some of the new Gaelic Football rules will be implemented in CnmB activities. Namely, the throw in rule, the solo and go as well as the dissent rule. Further clarification will be released to schools later in the school year.

Two new positions were also created at the Agm on foot of a motion passed. Going forward there will be a separate football and hurling/camogie secretary who will be responsible for coordinating the respective season in the cnmb Calendar. Given the huge number of schools competing in our leagues and the workload associated in coordinating the same, it is important to continue to encourage teachers to get involved and ensure that our organisation is sustainable.
